Cumberland recalls six lots of injectable drug due to contaminated vials

MedPage Today (12/30, Gever) reported, "Six lots of injectable acetylcysteine (Acetadote) manufactured by Cumberland Pharmaceuticals have been recalled because of particulate matter found in some vials, the company said." To date, "Cumberland said it was not aware of any adverse events, but was recalling the products as 'a precautionary measure.'" The drug, according to the manufacturer, "is used to prevent acute liver injury in patients taking potentially toxic amounts of acetaminophen."
